Statement

I was born in Brazil as the daughter of Belgian parents and grew up in Germany. These cultural and personal experiences shape my artistic exploration of questions of identity. Engaging with different facets of identity gives me artistic opportunities to highlight diversity and create a space for ambiguity, uncertainty, and openness.

My working process begins with the layering of monotypes. These prints condense into forms in which the interplay between legibility and abstraction is important to me.

Chance, openness, and changing perspectives are part of the image-finding process. The different layers of structures and colors contain an exploration of facets of identity.

This also opens up questions and individual answers in the viewer.
